Are you an innovator, ideas pioneer or trailblazer in your chosen field?
Do you – or could you- have an idea for a solution that can be implemented worldwide?
If so, you have the opportunity, as an individual or as part of a team, to participate in a global contest; be mentored by local and international business experts; gain project funding and obtain publicity for your solution.
The Higher Colleges of Technology, the largest higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates, and Arabic Knowledge@Wharton, the online research and business analysis journal of the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, have teamed up to conduct an “Innovation Tournament“ specifically designed for the MENA region.
The Challenge
Innovators have long sought news ways in which to do better business. The challenge for Innovation Tournament 2021 contestants is to provide solutions — which could either be bold new ideas or implemented solutions with demonstrated results — for the following topic, which has had its genesis in the United Arab Emirates Vision 2021 planning document.
The Vision 2021 document is summarized by stating that “In a strong and safe union, knowledgeable and innovative Emiratis will confidently build a competitive and resilient economy. They will thrive as a cohesive society bonded to its identity, and enjoy the highest standards of living within a nurturing and sustainable environment”.
Describe a solution that addresses one or more of the following problems related to Social Impact.
Entries open February 19, 2013.
The tournament organizers are accepting submissions from individuals and organizations. Special awards will be given to student innovators.
